Characteristics

The Swedish Vallhund is a very intelligent, powerful, active, small Working Dog

They are remarkably adaptable and are easily trained. They have been used successfully in obedience, agility and tracking.

TEMPERAMENT

[Standard - Friendly, active, eager to please]

The Vallhund is friendly, lively, very inquisitive, and eager to please. They are ever watchful and ready to join in whatever is going on. Listlessness, boredom, shyness, nervousness, fear or aggression should not be part of the Vallhund make-up. 

Vallhunds make responsive and even tempered companions and are ideal family dogs, being very trustworthy with children and other animals. They are natural show-offs that love attention. Swedish Vallhunds are dogs who generally feel so secure in themselves that they consider the world to be their oyster.
